School Choice

The choice program offered by Vineland Public schools will include general academic programs in studio broadcasting, drama, dance, world language, AP course selections, dual credit and rigorous core content courses. The purpose of the program is to advance, excite and prepare our students for college. General academic students will be provided a large choice of course selections including unique collaborative course offerings with the college in order to provide college credits. Students will enter the program at multiple levels depending on ability and grade level. Some students may be required to complete summer workshops in order to prepare for the demands of the program. The courses offered provide opportunities for all students to succeed in a diverse, academically challenging environment. 

The program offered by Vineland Public schools also includes an applied math and science program. (STEM, Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) The purpose ofthe program is to advance, excite and prepare our students for majors in Science, Engineering and Mathematics. STEM students will be moved through a rigorous course load that includes honors, AP and unique collaborative course offerings designed with the assistance of the county college in conjunction with specific job targets. Internships at the college and local industries are included in the possible pathways for student success. 

Students will enter the program at multiple levels depending on ability and grade level. Students will be required to complete summer workshops in order to prepare for the demands of the increased course loads. Students will complete the program with the following: 

  • 21st century high­tech communication and collaboration skills 

  • Workplace and task oriented skills 

  • Project management and team leadership expertise 

  • STEM research and internship experiences 

  • Advanced and AP coursework including dual credit and college degree pathways 

  • Global awareness and the impact of perspectives on STEM 

  • A commitment to community and research
