A perfect early summer evening mirrored the smiles on Vineland High School students as they celebrated one of the most anticipated events of the school year on Thursday, the annual senior prom.  The enchanted forest-themed prom, a traditional rite of passage for all high school students, was held at The Grove at Centerton.

The evening kicked off with the usual parade of limousines, decked-out vehicles, and classic cars as the students arrived in style at the venue. Parents were able to stand in designated areas for a quick photo-op before the students made their way to check in and begin the celebration with their classmates. The night featured energetic music, delicious food, dancing, and the traditional crowning of a king and queen. In addition to the formally taken photographs, students had the opportunity to pose with their friends in a photo booth or take selfies in several specially set-up areas. Over 550 students attended the event.

School officials agreed the evening was a safe and pleasant one for those who attended. Security was ever-present but unobtrusive, allowing the students to enjoy the event while ensuring a safe environment. There were also numerous faculty and school administrators on hand to monitor the evening's activities.

Near the end of the night, the dance floor was finally cleared to make room for the crowning of the prom king and queen. The prom court was selected earlier this week after senior class voting. The winners, announced amid resounding applause surrounding the dance floor, were Vito Centuolo and Destiny De La Cruz.

First runners-up were Samuel Manguerra and Egypt Owens. Second runners-up were Anthony Rivera and Katelynn Garcia. Third runners-up were Austin Nordberg and Angela Bastardo. Rounding out the top contestants were Ryan Pollock and KaMayra Holmes as fourth runners-up.
