Dear Parents and Guardians,
Recent events have highlighted the importance of providing love and attention to our students - your children. While we strive to create a nurturing and respectful environment during school hours, we recognize families' crucial role in a child's development.
Your involvement in your child's education is invaluable, and we appreciate your dedication to their success. As partners in their learning journey, we want to emphasize three key aspects:
1. Create a Learning-Friendly Home Environment: Set aside study areas, provide access to educational resources, and engage in meaningful conversations about learning at home.
2. Communicate High, Yet Reasonable, Expectations: Encourage your child to strive for excellence while supporting their strengths and challenges.
3. Stay Involved in Your Child's Education: Attend parent-teacher conferences, school events, and volunteer opportunities to stay connected and support their academic progress.
Whether your child is under your care, with family members, or a guardian, the message remains: stay engaged and attentive. Take the time to understand who they spend time with and what they consume on social media. Your involvement can make a significant difference in their lives. The National Association for Media Literacy Education has a helpful guide in English and Spanish to assist families in starting media literacy conversations at home.
While many of our students have supportive and motivated networks, some may need help finding the right path. Our dedicated staff members and community partners are here to help in such instances. Don't hesitate to contact us if you notice your loved one veering towards adverse outcomes. We are committed to intervening and providing the necessary resources within the school and through our community connections. We have a vast network of community resources in Cumberland County, which can be viewed at this link.
Together, let's unite our efforts to ensure the well-being and success of our students. We can empower them to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally by staying engaged and working collaboratively.
Thank you for your continued support.
