art show

Parents, family members, and friends toured the Landis Administrative Offices on April 30 to see an assortment of artistic creations by Vineland Public Schools' middle and high school students on display at the first Secondary Level Art Show.

The displays, in various media, included works produced by students in sixth through twelfth grade, according to Ross Stanger, a district supervisor of instruction.  Portraits, paintings, and a variety of mixed media pieces lined the first and second-floor hallways at Landis, in addition to tables displaying a variety of 3-D pieces. Schools represented included Johnstone, Pilla, Wallace, and Veterans Memorial Middle Schools and Vineland High School.

Judging the artwork this year were two graduates of our district’s art program, Sonia Lopez and Thailynn Perez. Both Sonia and Thailynn are continuing their work in the arts. Winners received a certificate and an Amazon gift card. In addition to the first, second, and third-place winners, there were two Best in Show awards given to the artist who had the best overall piece in the show, one from the middle school and one from the high school level.
