The service project for March at Rossi Elementary was in support of Type 1 Diabetes research and finding a cure. It is a service project that is near and dear to the hearts of many Rossi students and staff. During the month, Rossi students learned facts about the life of someone who lives with type 1 diabetes. They learned about diabetes through facts shared during the morning announcements and listening to read-alouds about this disease. All month long, the students, staff, and families of Rossi donated spare change and raised money with a service project dress down day. The Rossi Owls did such an amazing job of showing their support; they raised a total of $1080. All proceeds are being donated to the Junior Diabetes Research Fund (JDRF) to aid in their research to find a cure and help those who are diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. Way to go, Rossi Owls!

Dear Vineland families,
On April 8, 2024, the partial solar eclipse will occur in the afternoon in Vineland. The exact timing will depend on your specific location within Vineland. Generally, the partial eclipse is expected to occur between approximately 2:08 PM and 4:35 PM Eastern Time. It's essential to check local resources and eclipse prediction tools closer to the date for the most accurate timing for your specific location.
While this is a very exciting event, we want you to stay safe! It will not be safe to look at the Sun directly without specialized eye protection in our area at all during the solar eclipse. Viewing any part of the bright Sun, whether through a camera lens, binoculars, telescope, or the naked eye, without a special solar filter will instantly cause severe eye injuries.
Our teachers have received information on this exciting learning experience and how to keep our students safe while they are in school. We invite you to check out the following resources for your whole family:

On Wednesday, Barse's Safety Patrol hosted an egg hunt on the playground for the kindergarten students. The members were asked to bring in candy and plastic egg donations. The Safety Patrol also requested that staff send in candy and eggs, too! The members were so impressed with the amount of donations they received. Over the course of a week, members stuffed eggs full of goodies! They stuffed over 150 eggs and stuffed 4 GOLDEN EGGS with an extra special surprise. Members then hid all the eggs and assisted the kindergarteners during the hunt. Mrs. Pantalione's and Ms. Lee's classes had an EGG-cellent time on their egg hunt! Mrs. Beltran and her safeties owe a HUGE THANK YOU to Ms. Messore for helping with this event!
