At Vineland High School, students in Mrs. Belvett's classes used the first week of school to create vision boards of short and long-term goals and learned about Portrait of a Graduate traits with a group Jenga research game. The purpose was to interact with and get to know classmates while building skills to be successful students and community members.
The 6th, 7th & 8th grade Jr. Scientists at Johnstone School engaged in hexagonal thinking!
Students filled out a hexagon with their interests and then collaborated and communicated together through this strategy to make connections with their fellow peers. Students who did not see connections right away were challenged to think outside the box and make the connections work. It works out that the hexagons together resemble a group of cells or molecules!

Students at Barse Elementary School participated in a Scavenger Hunt during Library to become acclimated to the new library layout. This also helped to promote independence during book checkout time and foster collaboration between peers as they worked together in groups to locate items on their checklists. Students told the Library Media Specialist, Mrs. Loveland, that they enjoyed locating the different areas in the library and even found some new books they would like to read! Students completed their hunt by finding a book they would like to borrow for the week.

Dear VHS parents and students,
Please see the attached flyers regarding this year's attendance restoration policy and cell phone/earbud policy.
The attendance restoration policy describes the consequences of excessive absenteeism and the new restoration procedures that students may complete to restore their credit status.
The cell phone/earbud policy is part of the discipline policy for this school year. Cell phones and earbuds must remain in your child's bag or out of sight during the school day.
We thank you for your cooperation and look forward to a successful school year.
