Congratulations to all of Pilla's September Students of the Month! All of our September students of the month were chosen because they exemplify the trait of Responsibility. We are #PillaProud of all of you! 💙💛
Pilla Safety Patrol members volunteered on Saturday, 11/2, at this year's Safety Patrol Breakfast. Students assisted by cleaning tables, restocking napkins, and paper products, greeting guests, and helping with the check-in desk.
Vineland safeties alongside their advisors, administration, board members, and members of the community showed up in a big way and we were able to feed about 900 people. The proceeds of this event will ultimately help lower the cost of the student's trip to Washington, DC in May. We are so #PillaProud of your Safety Patrollers! 💙💛
Ms. Cruz's 7th-grade classes held a Mock Trial as part of their Suspense Unit, focusing on Edgar Allan Poe's narrator (who was named Mr. Allen for the trial) in "The Tell-Tale Heart." The students analyzed the story, learned about the Insanity defense, and researched trial procedures based on their assigned roles. They prepared opening and closing statements, asked insightful questions, and conducted the trial according to the law when determining the verdict and sentencing. They followed courtroom rules and behaved professionally. We are so #PillaProud! 💙💛

On Monday 10/21 The Pilla Band traveled to Rowan Univ. for a full day of music and learning. The students started their day serving as the performing ensemble for future music educators. Then students were led on a campus tour, had a picnic lunch on the beautiful campus and enjoyed a Q&A with Rowan music students. The day ended with the opportunity to attend a rehearsal of the University Wind Ensemble. It was a great day of learning on both sides and we are excited to return and build on this reconnected partnership. #PillaProud
