We invite you to join us for our first Bilingual Parent Advisory Committee meeting of the year! These meetings, held several times throughout the year, provide a valuable opportunity for our ML parents to engage with us on initiatives, share feedback, and learn about important district procedures.
All staff members are welcome to participate or simply observe what we do.
Please see the English and Spanish flyer.
Meetings are scheduled from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at either Dr. John J. Winslow or Gloria Sabater Schools. Meetings at Winslow will be held in English and meetings at Sabater will be held in Spanish. Below are the upcoming dates and their locations.

Wallace/VPS Spirit Gear Fundraiser kicks off October 15th. All orders and money (cash only) are due to Mrs. Ecret by November 26th. We will try to fill orders as they are received. All orders will be filled and sent home with students before Winter Break.

The 8th Grade will be hosting a Car Wash Fundraiser on Saturday, October 12th from 9am-1pm AT Veterans Memorial School. The car wash is $5 per vehicle and there will also be snacks and water for purchase.

Each year Ms. Ecret starts class with a lesson on schema (in short...what we already know) and discusses how because of the different schemas we each posses, we all bring a different point of view or understanding to class. Her classes e read the book "It Looked Like Spilt Milk" and discuss how a blob of spilled milk can look like various things depending on your schema. This lesson culminated in an activity in which the students are given a piece of paper with a line drawn on it. They need to use their schema to determine what the line is/what they see and create something. She says, "These drawings represent the different perspectives of the students in all four of my classes and ultimately illustrates how wonderfully unique we all are."
